Alex Nagle sleeps rough for The Wayside Chapel

Alex Nagle

One of my fellow volunteers at The Wayside Chapel, Alex Nagle is sleeping rough for ten days to raise much needed funds and awareness for the homeless and disadvantaged of Sydney. Every night approximately 750 people sleep rough in the ‘City of Sydney’ area alone and that’s only the people the team from Street Count can find. 750 people! It kills me to think of all the large houses in Sydney that have so many spare beds each night, but that’s a whole other story…

While I was there yesterday, Alex came in for lunch. It was incredible to gain an insight into what he is being exposed to on the streets – good and bad. It’s not an easy task to be thrown into and he’s coming up against some challenging situations and people. But for many homeless people, life on the streets starts as a jolt as they are thrown into this situation and need to do what they can to survive and stay safe. I imagine it’s an incredibly enriching experience for Alex and I look forward to discussing his time as a homeless person once he is finished.

Please get behind Alex and donate online and follow his progress on his Facebook page. Any dollars help.

Share the love and share this post. Thank you.
