OutThere Magazine: Sailing on Ningaloo Reef

7 Aug

Tiny little fish and beautiful coral

I’ve been talking about Ningaloo Reef quite a bit at the moment…it really was an amazing trip! So I’m posting up another magazine story that has been released about our time over in the West, this time in the inflight magazine for Rex Airlines and SkyWest, OutThere.

The angle was the sailing component of the trip – three incredible days aboard the Shore Thing catamaran with the team from Sail Ningaloo, Luke and Lannie Riley. I can’t recommend this highly enough, it was such a wonderful introduction to the reef and Lannie’s cooking was restaurant quality…the woman even cooks her own bread on board! So good!

Come here little sharkie…

The snorkelling was out of this world, superseding anything I had experienced in the past. I dropped in on an endangered Loggerhead turtle, saw white tipped reef sharks, swam with manta rays, beautiful bright fish and hovered above loads of coral.

You can contact Sail Ningaloo here. In the interests of transparency, my journey was organised by Australia’s Coral Coast, and WA Tourism…thanks guys!
